Final Swarm beginner guide — first hour, tutorial clear, and Skill Tree priority
The fastest first hour in Final Swarm is a six-step route: clear the tutorial, redeem codes, bank into the Skill Tree, queue a real run, pick in-run upgrades that compound, and avoid the four mistakes that cost new players a run before Wave 8. This guide walks through each step and points to the deeper articles for the math.
1. Clear the 6-wave tutorial and beat the boss
You spawn into a controlled arena with a starter weapon that auto-attacks the nearest mob. Each of the six tutorial waves drops more enemies than the last. After Wave 6, a tutorial boss spawns at the far end of the map. Defeat it to unlock the portal that steps you into the Lobby.
Waves 1–4 are forgiving: you can stand still while the auto-attack clears the spawns. The tutorial boss has noticeably more HP than standard mobs — treat it as a DPS check on your starting weapon rather than a kite check.
2. Step through the portal into the Lobby
The Lobby is the meta-progression hub where the Shop, Skill Tree, and chest inventory become available. The code redemption box is locked until you reach this screen. Open Shop by tapping the button at the bottom of the screen and scroll to the Codes section.
3. Redeem every active code
Active codes as of the verification date:
| Code | Reward | Status |
|---|---|---|
supdoggy |
100 Keys | Developer-listed active across 8+ trackers |
H4MM3RT1M3 |
3 Epic Chests | Developer-listed active across RPS / Beebom / TryHardGuides / Pocket Tactics; Pro Game Guides marks inactive — track it as a real cross-tracker conflict |
update1 |
100 Keys + chest bundle | Active on 5+ trackers, reward copy varies |
firstswarm |
3 Wooden Chests | Active on 6+ trackers |
nocheaters |
100 Keys + 5 Epic Chests + 10 Rerolls | Single-source probable active |
Codes are case-sensitive and one-use per account. Paste each one, press CLAIM, and confirm the reward text before closing the dialog.
4. Bank your first Keys into the Skill Tree
Do not spend the codes’ Keys on chests. Bank them into the Skill Tree in this order:
- Damage — every Skill Tree rank compounds across runs.
- Max Health — caps how long you survive past Wave 8.
- Defense — flat damage reduction on incoming hits.
- Player Speed — movement speed; mandatory once you start kiting.
- Pickup Range — XP/material vacuum radius.
- Attack Range — weapon reach/projectile travel.
- Remaining nodes — Utility nodes that aren’t individually named.
- Luck — improves the quality of offered level-up upgrades. Never spend Keys here early.
If rank[Damage] is high but rank[Max Health] is low, the Skill Tree respec and rebalancing article walks through the glass-cannon fix.
5. Queue a real run
Return to the world select and start a fresh run with your permanent upgrades applied. The starter world is the easiest; Jungle is the next step; Mythicals is the current suffix and adds the Mythical chest tier to the drop ladder. Keep the wave counter, level-up cadence, and boss cadence from Wave 8 onward in mind — every run after the first should treat Wave 8 as the load-bearing wall.
6. Pick in-run upgrades that compound
Lead with the Holy Trinity: Multi-Shot, then Attack Speed, then Projectile Count. They multiply each other and dominate Waves 1–7. Around Wave 8, shift toward Power Trio, Health, and Defense to survive the boss. From Wave 8 onward the priority is Lifesteal, Defense, and Movement Speed to hold the post-boss swarm.
The Wave Survival DPS calculator lets you diagnose whether your run is failing on DPS, durability, mobility, or pickup range. Use it after every death.
Common beginner mistakes
- Standing still past Wave 4. New players camp during the tutorial and carry that habit into real runs. Once Wave 5 hits, enemy density spikes and a stationary player is surrounded almost immediately — start kiting in wide circles from Wave 5 onward.
- Hoarding Keys instead of spending them on the Skill Tree. Keys are the meta-progression currency and only pay off when banked into permanent nodes. Chests spike one slot but Skill Tree ranks compound every run.
- Skipping the free codes. The five active codes hand out 200+ Keys plus a stack of Wooden, Rare, and Epic chests. Skipping them means you start at a Keys deficit every session.
- Picking scattershot upgrades instead of building a synergy. Commit to the Holy Trinity (Multi-Shot + Attack Speed + Projectile Count) and reinforce it every level-up.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the Final Swarm tutorial?
Six waves plus a tutorial boss. Beating the boss opens the portal to the Lobby, where the Shop, Skill Tree, and code redemption become available.
What should I spend my first Keys on?
Bank them into the Skill Tree, not into chests. The community-corroborated order is Damage → Max Health → Defense → Player Speed → Pickup Range → Attack Range → Utility → Luck.
When do I need to start kiting?
From Wave 5 onward. Waves 1–4 are forgiving and a stationary player can clear them, but enemy density rises sharply at Wave 5 and standing still will surround you.
